Santa Rosa de Tastil

Seen behind the ruins are the Andes. The residents of this settlement traded their good with others in the Puna highlands. The ruins are located 2.5 km from the town of Santa Rosa de Tastil, at 3200 m above sea level.
Named for Saint Rose of Lima, the first South American female saint, the town celebrates her saints day on August 31 with a combination of Catholic and indigenous festivities.
