Declaring a SORN online from U.S. or Other Countries

• 1). Log in to the DLVC portal and enter the 16 digit reference number from the Reminder Form V11 or
  
  the 11 digit reference number from the Vehicle Registration Form and the Vehicle Registration mark
  
  
• 2). Accept the conditions by clicking "Next."
  
  
• 3). Select "Declare a SORN" from the options available.
  
  
• 4). Click "Submit" to complete the declaration.
  
  

Declaring a SORN While Visiting the U.K.

• 1). Check the SORN declaration box on the Reminder Form V11.
  
  
• 2). Find a U.K. post office that issues tax discs. Use the the U.K. Post Office finder portal to do this.
  
  
• 3). Hand in the signed Reminder Form V11 at a post office.
  
  

Declaring a SORN by Mail

• 1). Log on to the direct.govt.U.K. portal and select "Download 'Statutory Off Road Notification (SORN)' -- Fom V890." Print the form.
  
  
• 2). Complete V890 Section 1 "Vehicle Details" using the information from the vehicle registration certificate.
  
  
• 3). Complete V890 Section 2 "Your Details." This must match those of the keeper on the vehicle registration certificate
  
  
• 4). Sign the V890 form and mail it to DVLC, Swansea, SA99 1AR, U.K.
