Bollywood is popular in the bridal world nowadays. This is not because of the story of the films, not because of the locations used in the films, not because of the acting of the film stars, but simply because of the bridal dresses, jewelry, make-ups, and above all because of the bollywood music.

If you pick up any Asian Bridal or Indian Bridal magazine, the majority of the pictures you will find are Bollywood babes. Most of the articles published in magazines are about the bridal dress, the material used and the designs.

Indian bridal dresses are not just expensive, they are also heavy and very uncomfortable. If you are wearing this kind of dress for the first time, it will probably also be the last time in your life. You will need an assistant at all times of the day. But if that's fine with you, and you think a bride should wear something that's heavy and expensive, then go for it. But here, we kind of like to not follow the trend: as it's your special day, why not look different from the rest?

As a wedding planner, I'd also suggest a bit more than this. For a change, how about having your dress designed, and how about using Duppatta material, also used as part of your wedding decor or backdrops.

On wedding days we all like to have some music - especially Bollywood songs. How about going a little further by introducing a whole Bollywood theme to your wedding?

Bollywood waiters, Bollywood pictures around the venue, Bollywood decor, what do you think? Funny Bollywood characters moving around in the venue might be too funny, and why not make your wedding day and entertaining event?
