How to Make Mirror Front Kitchen Cabinets

    • 1). Clean your kitchen cabinets thoroughly with soap and water. This helps increase the gripping power of the mirror adhesive.

    • 2). Measure the segment of the cabinet that you want to cover. When adding a mirror front to kitchen cabinets, it is best to cover a segment in the middle of the cabinet rather than running the mirror edge to edge, as mirrors at the edge of the cabinets are prone to cracking.

    • 3). Cut segments of mirror tile sheets using a pair of heavy scissors. The segments that you cut should match the measurements that you found in Step 2. Depending on the size of the tile sheets, you may need two or more to cover the cabinet or you may need to trim them down so they are narrow enough for your cabinets.

    • 4). Cover the segment where you want the mirror using a mirror adhesive applied with a paintbrush. Cover the area thoroughly but not thickly.

    • 5). Press the back of the mirror tile sheet segments you cut to the glue, holding it in place several seconds before letting go.

    • 6). Clean up any stray mirror adhesive with a clean, damp cloth. While mirror adhesive is easy to clean while it is wet, it becomes very tough once it cures.

    • 7). Repeat Steps 4 through 6 for the rest of the cabinets. Leave the cabinets closed until the glue is cured. The amount of time this takes is referenced on the adhesive packaging.
