- 1). Place the chair upside down.
- 2). Disassemble each loose leg by removing all nails or screws that attach it to the chair with a flatbed screwdriver. Set the hardware aside for reassembly. Hammer the legs out of place if you need to loosen a leg's joints. Remove each leg from the seat.
- 3). Use 100-grit sandpaper to remove old glue from each leg's end and the seat. Apply a light coating of yellow carpenter's glue to each hole in the seat and leg joint with a small painter's brush.
- 4). Put each leg back into the seat. Replace screws back into the leg's assembly. Wipe off extra glue.
- 5). Allow the glue to set for 24 hours. It is recommended to use clamps to help lock the legs in place.
- 6). Apply epoxy as filler and a bond agent for badly worn joints. Allow the joints to dry upside-down for eight to 16 hours. Scrape away excess epoxy before it dries and hardens.
