How to Get Rid of Mice & Roaches
- 1). Practice good hygiene around your home, especially where food is concerned. Mice, roaches and other pests are attracted to the smell of food, and their senses are much more acute than ours. Never leave food sitting unattended, and never leave dishes in the sink. Even the smallest amount of food on an unwashed plate can be enough to attract unwanted visitors to your home.
- 2). Purchase a set of ultrasonic pest repellents. These pest repellents emit a high frequency sound that is inaudible to humans but very troubling to rats, mice and insects. Plug a repellent unit into an electrical outlet in each room of your house--use two repellents for large rooms.
- 3). Set traps for mice and roaches, and check those traps on a daily basis. Continue setting traps until no more pests are caught.
- 4). Seal up any gaps in your home that could be allowing bugs and mice to enter. Insects, mice and other pests can enter your home through the smallest of cracks, so do a thorough examination of the outside walls of your home. Seal up any cracks or crevices that could allow pests to enter. Also check the basement and attic for any holes or gaps in the walls.
