Does Your Marketing Produce Like It Should?
Marketing is the key that unlocks the doors to success.
You could have the greatest product or service but if no one knew about it you would fail in business.
So please recognize the value of marketing before you read on.
If you think marketing is just another way to drain your profits, don't read this article.
If you do read on, you will discover what I have discovered.
I needed to figure out what marketing works and do more of that and less of other types.
On top of that I discovered that I need to be sure that all marketing collateral, materials, logos, signs match.
In other words you must build a brand.
Your brand is your business; and it needs to be a graphic and here's why.
If I stepped up to the white board and drew a check mark on the board and said what company is this? You would all tell me "Nike"! Is there anyone over the age of 6 that doesn't know that brand? Of course not! Yours needs to be you and your business.
Need I say more about having a brand? Once you decide on a logo, it needs to be a part of every communication your business has with anyone in the world using any media type.
What I mean is this: Your so-called "business cards" - that I call "Marketing Cards", your letters, your website, your email signature, your car signs, your bandit signs, your post cards, your t-shirts, your hats, your coffee mugs and every other marketing tool you use must have your logo prominently displayed.
Every contact you make should see your logo.
Seeing it once will not make much of an impression.
Seeing it 4-5 times will start to imprint on people's minds.
Seeing it that 7th time (proven statistical fact) will produce a purchase of your product or service.
Choosing a logo is not an easy task.
Your first task is to decide on a direction for the logo.
I don't mean north, east, south or west.
I mean, do you want your logo to reflect your company name.
For example, some logos are graphic initials of the company corporate name.
Like the Volkswagen logo using a circle with VW inside it.
Others have no resemblance to the company name like Nike.
After you decide this don't be stingy with money for your logo.
Hire the best graphic artist you can find and get the very highest quality images you can get.
The reason for this is that when you take an image and blow it up to say a poster size, you don;t want it to appear like a 5th grade science project that is all grainy or blurry.
Once you have your logo, choose any colors that you want to make your own.
After the colors you can now design your marketing materials around those colors and the completed logo.
Put them on every single item that you expose to the public.
Be sure that you only deviate by the size of your logo, never change colors or shapes.
You want everyone exposed to the exact same logo.
If you are starting a new business, you will be ahead of the majority of us that had to learn this easy marketing lesson the hard way.
If you are changing your business marketing to follow this advice, you will be sure to receive many complements on your new design.
The only thing I'd like to add here is that if you can splurge for "give-a-ways" do it! Pens, coffee mugs, t-shirts, hats, etc are a great way to keep your logo "out there" for many to see and remember.
I sincerely hope this helps you the way it has helped me.
I'm not 100% there yet and even when I think I'm at 100% I'm sure I will think of something else I can add my logo to.
As a real estate investor, I had to learn all of this after many years of doing the wrong way.
My main focus is selling houses at wholesale prices to landlords and investors who want great deals that cash flow from day one.
