Dog Vaccinations - Is Your Dog Being Over Vaccinated?
Over vaccination is an all to common practice today.
Many experts have known for years about the adverse effects of over vaccination.
But, far to many veterinarians continue to insist and most pet owners will not contradict their veterinarian.
Personally, I do not want my dogs poked and prodded on or experimented on.
Many articles and books have been written on the subject of over vaccination.
This information applies to cats as well as dogs.
Over vaccination is terribly dangerous to your dog's health.
As you are the main caregiver, it is up to you to make sure that your dog does not suffer the consequences of being over vaccinated.
Sometimes, side effects may not show up for weeks or months, or they may happen immediately.
Some typical signs of adverse reactions can be fever, stiffness, sore joints, inflammation, jaundice, central and peripheral nervous system disorders, and susceptibility to infections.

Many breeds are more susceptible than others.
They are: Akitas, Harlequin Great Danes, Weimaraners, white coated breeds and dilutes within breeds, Standard Poodles, Old English Sheepdogs and some families of American Cocker Spaniels and Vizslas.
Most veterinarians push a combination vaccine.
Combination vaccines may contain some that are totally unnecessary for your dog.
Studies have shown that the minimum duration of immunity for vaccines for Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus and Canine Adenovirus can last 5-15 years.
Individually.
This is known, as testing for antibody titers shows these strains are still offering protection.
A Titers (pronounced tighters) is a blood test checking for vaccine strains and can also be given for proof of Rabies vaccinations.
Most states allow a 3 year Rabies vaccination.
However, do not give a Rabies shot before it is needed and DO not give it along with a combo vaccine.
Actually, you should request that your veterinarian not give a combo vaccine.
They should be single doses.
And follow up booster shots are not necessary.
Giving a combo vaccine and Rabies at the same time could cause your dog to have seizures.
If your dog suffers from any drug reaction, you may be hard pressed to get your vet to agree that it could be from over vaccinations.
These terrible side effects of over vaccinations could last the rest of your dog's life or worse yet, kill him right before your eyes! You must remember that veterinarians make a lot of money pushing drugs on poor defenseless animals.
