How to Make Perfume Using Essential Oils

    • 1). Buy some glass atomizers. They must be either blue glass or amber, as essential oils keep best in these colored bottles. Buying these atomizers in bulk is also a good idea (see Resources below).

    • 2). Choose your essential oils. Be sure to only include one or two types in your perfume. You do not need any more than this. The general rule of thumb when using essential oils is "less is more."

    • 3). Pour your alcohol into your atomizer almost to the top. Add 1, 2 or 3 drops of your oils directly to the bottle. Start slowly and test the scent. Add more if desired, but no more than 2 or 3 drops of each oil.

    • 4). Close the top tightly and shake. Diffuse the perfume into the air before spraying on your skin, clothes or hair.

    • 5). Make up several different types to keep on hand. These can also be used as room fragrances too.
