The Decision to Raise Chickens For Profit Requires Good Plans For Building a Chicken Coop

The decision to raise chickens can be both profitable as a business venture and satisfying on a personal level.
In order to be successful you need to start your project by locating the right chicken coop plans for your particular needs.
One thing that some people overlook when building their chicken coop is ensuring that it does not leak.
Contrary to some belief chickens are not thrilled with being wet and keep your chickens healthy and happy is the key to them laying good eggs.
So look for ways to keep your coop more waterproof and keep your chickens safe and dry.
You also want to keep in mind is that while you may be planning to start out with only a few chickens it is likely that over time your flock will expand; so you need to either build a coop that is a little larger than you need at the moment or leave room for expansion.
Of course, if you have the yard space you can always build more chicken coops as you need them.
This doesn't mean that your original coop should be small and cramped, chickens need room, approximately 4 square feet per bird, in order to be healthy and happy.
Remember that you need to build your chicken coop so that it is safe against predators as well.
This includes some type of wire or mesh over the windows and you want to be sure to have the outer wire mesh several inches into the ground to prevent animals from digging under it and getting to your chickens.
