How to Make Earrings

This article on how to make earrings will describe to you, in simple steps, how to make your very own pair of earrings.
These steps are easy to learn and simple to master.
Once you can do this, you can begin to make all kinds of earrings.
Before you begin though, first ensure that you have all of the necessary items to make your own earrings.
These items are as follows:
  1. 1 pair of round-nose pliers
  2. 1 pair of needle-nose pliers (optional)
  3. 1 pair of wire cutters (optional)
  4. 2 head pins
  5. 2 large beads
  6. 2 french hooks
The head pins should be long enough to insert through the bead with enough to spare so that you can bend it into a loop.
If your head pins are only 1 inch long, your beads should probably be 6/10 of an inch long to allow for a perfect loop at the top.
If your beads are smaller than this, you may need wire cutters to snip any extra wire from the end of the head pins.
If your beads are larger, you will need longer head pins, and likely wire cutters to snip off any excess wire from the ends.
Making the earrings is very easy.
Simply follow these steps, and you will soon have your own pair of handmade earrings:
  1. Insert a head pin through one of your beads.
  2. Grasp the top of the head pin, just above the bead with your round-nose pliers.
  3. Bend the head pin 45 degrees.
This makes your loop more centered.
    Otherwise, it may look lopsided.
  4. Grasp the very top of the head pin with the middle portion of the round-nose pliers.
  5. Gently "roll" the pliers towards you.
    This starts the loop.
  6. Reposition the pliers and continue to roll them towards you until the loop is almost complete.
  7. Thread the french hook loop through the open end of the head pin loop that you have just made.
  8. Pinch the loop closed with the round-nose pliers.
If you cannot get a good grip to pinch the loop closed, a regular pair of needle-nose pliers can be used.
Once you have followed all of these steps, you can repeat them, beginning with step 1 to make your second earring.
Congratulations, you have made your first pair of earrings.
Using these simple steps, you will be able to create multiple-bead earring designs, using longer head pins, or even smaller earrings, using smaller beads.
Your only limit is your imagination.
