Prom Crafts

    Photo Frames

    • Whether wielded by you, your date or your photo-happy parents, cameras will likely make an appearance on your prom day. Prior to your prom, create a place to put your favorite photos by decorating photo frames. Purchase a plain frame and decorate it. Paint the frame a different hue, or use detail painting to add ivy, flowers or polka dots. To make a feminine frame, buy tiny fabric flowers and glue them around the frame surface. Seek flowers that match the hue of your dress so the picture fits perfectly.

    Design-You-Own-Dress

    • If you really want to showcase your craftiness, change-up the way in which you get your dress by not buying one, but instead making one with your own crafty hands. Use a pattern and fabric to sew a dress, or make a true attention-getter by turning trash into treasure in a "Project Runway"-esque project, making a dress out of duct tape, candy wrappers or cereal boxes.

    Silk Corsage

    • Skip the trip to the florist by crafting a silk corsage. Select silk flowers in colors that compliment your date's dress to feature in your corsage. Gather the flowers at the stems and secure them with green floral tape. Attach them to a wrist band, or use a pin to attach it directly to your date's dress. Not only will your date likely appreciate this corsage more because you made it, she will also be able to keep it forever unlike a live corsage which has a very short shelf life.

    Prom Clutch

    • You certainly don't want to tote a hefty bag to prom, as doing so would seriously hinder your ability to hit the dance floor and boogie. Instead of searching for the perfect prom clutch, make your own, selecting a fabric that pairs well with your dress and using it as the base of your clutch. Add beading, embroidery or applique to make the clutch an even better match for your dress or to reflect your unique style.
