Making Healthy Baked French Fries

Without a doubt in mind, we can say that French fries is one of the most popular and most sought after food in the world. Almost every fast food in the world has this in combination with whatever food they are serving. This guilty pleasure is indeed one food that appeals not only to France where it originated thus the name French fries, but it appeals to almost every nation's taste buds. With French fries, you can never go wrong except for the fact that before it's served, it will be cooked in a pot full of grease and unhealthy oil. But why suffer a heart stroke with all that grease when you can now enjoy baked French Fries!

 The Healthy Alternative to Frying

If you want to get rid of that excess grease and oil but still want to enjoy the comfort food known as French fries, then why not bake it instead. Baked French fries is the healthy way to eat those potatoes and comes highly recommended by nutritionist all over the world. What you Will Need
  • Knife
  • Scrubber
  • Potatoes
  • Salt
  • Olive Oil
  • Pepper
  • Baking Pan
  • Long-handled spoon
  • Seasonings and Herbs (optional)

How to Cook Healthy Baked French Fries
  1. Make sure to clean and wash the potatoes thoroughly by using a scrubber and running it under cold tap water.  The amount of potatoes would depend on how much you and your family can consume in one seating.
  2. Once the potatoes are clean, you can either peel it or leave the skin on before slicing. If you have a potato slicer, then you don't have to slave away with a knife. Cut the potatoes in about 1/4 inch wide for each side.
  3. Put the sliced potatoes in a baking pan and drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper. Arrange the potatoes in single layer and avoid stacking it up altogether.
  4. Preheat your over to 425 degrees F before putting in the potatoes.
  5. Leave the baking pan in the oven for approximately 20 minutes before stirring the potatoes and turning it into another side using a long-handled spoon. 
  6. Wait for another 15 minutes or until the potatoes turn brown. Once cooked you can sprinkle it with other seasonings and herbs such as paprika or oregano for added taste.
  7. The last and final step in making French fries is to enjoy it!
