Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 705HD 3LCD Video Projector - Extended Options Menu
Here is a look at the Extended Options menu of the Epson 705HD:
1. User's Logo: Enables the user to select a custom logo for the projector. The User's logo function allows the capturing of still image from any source connected to the projector. The image is then saved in the projector as the User's Logo.
2. Projection: This tells the projector how it is placed in relation to the screen. The options are: Front, Front/Ceiling, Rear, Rear/Ceiling.
3. Operation: This function manages several additional setting options.
Direct Power On - Enables the projector to start as soon as it senses connection to power - this bypasses the on/off button.
Sleep Mode - Sets the projector to turn off if it doesn't sense an incoming signal. The interval time can be set from one to thirty minutes.
Sleep Mode Timer - Allows the user to tell the projector to turn off after a certain amount of time regardless if the incoming signal is present or not. The timer can be set from one to thirty minutes.
Lens Cover Timer - If the lens cover is closed and the projector is still one, you can set the projector to turn off automatically after a one to thirty minute time period.
High Altitude Mode - If you are using the projector above 4,900 from sea level, this setting will maintain proper projector running temperature.
4. Standby Mode: Set to Communication On when the projector is connected to a PC. This will allow the projector to be controlled by the PC, such as bringing out of standby mode.
5. Link 21L: Use this option if the projector is connected to a PC using Link 21L software.
6. Language: This sets the menu language to be displayed.
7. Reset: Resets all of the above options to factory defaults.
Setting up and using the Epson Home Cinema 705HD is easy. The inputs are clearly labeled and the control buttons, remote control, and menu are easy to use.
Also, with high lumens output, the Epson 705HD projects a bright image.
The Epson 705HD cannot project a native 1080p image, but the detail from 1080p sources, scaled to 720p, was good. However, the 705HD didn't seem to cut it with deinterlacing/scaling of 480i source material.
If you are looking for your first projector, or a second one to travel with, use in a second room, or outdoors, the Epson Home Cinema 705HD is worth a look.
