Wachovia Wire Transfer Instructions

    Customer Service

    • Wachovia only provides wire-transfer services to its customers who have established and verified their identity and account information. Before Wachovia permits you to complete a wire-transfer transaction, you must visit your Wachovia branch office to complete the required paperwork. This paperwork will list any restrictions, requirements and fees that may apply to your account and transaction. The paperwork will also capture your signature and the representative will require your driver's license or photo identification, your Social Security card and account information.

    Wealth & Private Client Groups

    • Wachovia provides its Wealth and Private Client Groups with online access to wire-transfer transactions. These transfers allow for immediate transfer of funds from one verified account to another. The funds are secured in transfer by the sender's additional funds that are held in the active Wachovia account. Certain restrictions and requirements apply. Speak with your local Wachovia representative for more information.

    Other Options

    • Outside of the standard wire transfer, Wachovia provides its customers with additional money- transfer options. If you intend to move funds into a Wachovia account, you have an option of mailing a check or money-order deposit, or completing a wire transfer from your banking institution to your Wachovia account. The funds are generally available within three to five business days. Allow up to 10 business days for mailed deposits. If you intend to move funds from your Wachovia account into another account, you also have an option of writing a check against your Wachovia account and mailing it, or delivering the deposit to the other banking institution. The deposit can clear anywhere from eight to 72 hours after issuance.
