- 1). Select a tempered glass vase or decanter with a round mouth measuring between 1.5 and 2 inches in diameter.
- 2). Add the mineral oil and essential oil to the vase. Swirl the oils briefly to blend them.
- 3). Anchor the wick stone in the opening of the vase with the wick facing down. Select a stone that sits in the opening of the vase without risk of falling in. Wick stones come in a wide variety of sizes, so choose appropriately. The wick should dip into the oil mixture and draw the oil up into the stone.
- 4). Light the surface of the stone with the lighter. A blue flame will instantly appear. Let it burn until the flame goes out. The tiny blue flame should only last for about 20 to 60 seconds. After this, the stone is hot enough to emit the scent as it evaporates the scented oil it has absorbed.
