Decide on a program. You may want to attend a program in a school of nursing or a community college. A program at a school of nursing can focus your attention directly on the LPN material. Attending a community college can offer you more options. Ideally the program should be close to your home and easy for you to attend.

Do volunteer work at a hospital. One way to increase your chances of admission to an LPN program is to show your interest in health care directly. If you are still in high school look into volunteering a few hours of your time each week at a local hospital. Many will welcome your prescence and ability to help cheer up patients.

Make sure that you have all your paperwork in order. Any LPN program will require different forms such as copies of your high school transcript while you apply for admission. Get in touch with your high school if you don't have your high school on hand. They should be able to mail a copy of your grades to the LPN program directly.

    • 4). Work on your interviewing techniques. An LPN program may require you to complete an interview. Polish up your ability to speak clearly. Rehearse questions you might be asked. Emphasize your love of health care and medicine as well as you desire to help people. Be forceful yet calm during the interview.
