How to Make a Mask Hoodie Jacket
- 1). Draw out the mask hoodie design on a piece of scratch paper. While the design may look good in your mind, you might have a different opinion once you see a physical rendition of the hoodie. Rework your design until you find a look you're satisfied with.
- 2). Place a piece of felt across your face and mark where your eyes are with a marker. Remember to use the felt color that matches your mask hoodie design. Cut out the eye holes with a pair of scissors.
- 3). Cut out the felt mask from the larger felt sheet. Fasten the felt piece to the inner part of the hood with fabric glue. Apply the glue to the edges of the felt piece and press the glue to the inner inside edge of the hood. This hides the glued section from view and gives the maximum amount of space for your face when you put the hoodie on. Said another way, gluing the fabric to the inner inside edge of the hood allows the mask to hang in front of your face when you put the hoodie on. It also hides the glued section which makes the hoodie and felt mask appear as one solid piece and not something you pieced together yourself.
- 4). Cut out other pieces of felt for your mask section of the hoodie . For example, suppose you're making a shark mask hoodie. If the face mask represents the shark's mouth, you then want to cut our triangular pieces of white felt for the teeth and glue them around the front of the hood. Also cut out other design elements for the hood including eyes, a nose, or anything else needed for your particular design. Glue these elements to the hood using fabric glue.
- 5). Cut out the remainder of the felt pieces to complete your hoodie design. These other felt elements can include a tail, back designs or even arm designs. For example, add a felt tail to a dragon mask hoodie or a shark fin to a shark mask hoodie. Once again, use the fabric glue to fasten all design elements.
