West Tennessee camping offers great fishing, hiking, boating as well as notable ecological and historical sites. Anglers will enjoy the 100 plus species of fish in Kentucky Lake and the Tennessee River. Nature-lovers can explore the diverse bird, plant and wildlife species of beautiful Reelfoot Lake State Park. And history and archaeology buffs can take in all the educational sights of Fort Pillow State Historic Park. Accommodations throughout the area range from rustic tent camping to cabins with modern amenities. - Located on the western shore of Kentucky Lake, Paris Landing State Park offers campsites, cabins and even an inn along with a host of outdoor activities. The park has 45 campsites, complete with water and electrical hookups, as well as 18 primitive sites for those who enjoy roughing it. Campsites accommodate both tent camping and RVs up to 38 feet long. From March through November, the park offers a dumping station and two bathhouses providing restrooms and showers to campers. The park also offers 10 cabins for rent, each accommodating up to 10 guests. Cabins come complete with cable television, kitchenettes, gas fireplaces as well as air conditioning and heat. Outdoor activities include fishing, golfing, boating, swimming and hiking. For anglers, Kentucky Lake boasts over 100 species of fish, including bass, crappie and catfish. And golfers will enjoy Paris Landing's 18-hole golf course, a bent-grass par-72 course. Swimmers can choose from the park's lake swimming area or its Olympic-size pool. Camping is available year-round on a first-come first-serve basis.

The resort's 50 campsites offer beautiful lake views and electrical and water hookups. Some sites offer sewer service as well. For tent campers, several water's-edge tent sites are also available. The resort offers 14 cabins and manufactured homes for rent complete with air conditioning, televisions, and VCR and/or DVD players as well as private grills and picnic tables. Some also have hot tubs, satellite television and fireplaces. Along with a host of outdoor activities, Birdsong Resort also offers a tours of North America's only freshwater pearl farm, located on site. The resort also offers a pool for swimming, hiking trails, boat rentals and a full-service marina.

The 84-acre resort offers lakeside and non-lakeside sites complete with water and electricity. Cabins are air-conditioned and sleep up to four. The grounds offer a swimming beach, a pool room, as well as softball, volleyball. basketball and a playground. Also on site are a shower house and a general store selling tackle, bait and fishing permits for anglers.

A vast, 25,000-acre hunting and fishing preserve, the area houses a diverse array of birds, wildlife, plants and trees not commonly seen in other areas. The park also offers a museum and nature center housing snakes, raptors and other wildlife from the area. For those seeking less rustic accommodations, the park offers a five-unit motel as well. Reelfoot Lake State Park is located in the northwest corner of the state.

The 1,642-acre park was once the site of a Confederate Army fort named after General Gideon J. Pillow. Today, the park houses a museum featuring Civil War artifacts and various displays. The beautiful park sits on the Chickasaw Bluffs, overlooking the Mississippi River, and offers a 25-acre lake stocked with bass, crappie and bream. Park activities include no wake boating, fishing, hiking and picnicking. The park offers 38 campsites accommodating tents, small campers and RVs. Each site has its own campfire pad and picnic table, and a two full-service bathhouses are available. These scenic campsites are rustic, with no electrical or water hookups. Back-country camping is also available along a scenic five-mile trail.
