Elephant!

Elephants are the largest animals that live on land. They're one of the top killers of people, particularly in areas where elephants are put to work or where they are not treated well. An incredible amount has been learned in recent years about the intelligence and emotional maturity of elephants.

Elephants communicate with each other over very long distances through sub-sonic rumblings that travel through the ground.

Elephant herds are composed of females and babies, while the males tend to roam about, fighting with each other over mating opportunities.

The two elephants at Audubon are tended to with great care and currently enjoy an expanded exhibit. I'm told the elephants are let out after the zoo closes and around to walk through the paths. There are also reports that the elephants helped out after Katrina in clearing away some of the fallen trees.
