- 1). Eat healthy and do not crash diet. In the beginning your leptin levels will actually be lower, but this is normal. Give your body time to adjust in order to reset your leptin levels back to normal, and soon your body will recognize when it is full.
- 2). Eat less sugar. Sugar and leptin do not mix well, as sugar causes your brain to be less sensitive to sugar. Try eating more fish. Omega-3 fatty acids aid sensitivity to leptin.
- 3). Get plenty of sleep. Leptin levels increase when you are well rested. If you don't sleep enough, your body will compensate by making you hungrier.
