Scrape up soft candle wax with the edge of a credit card. Grasp the card with both hands and slowly move it along the wax, scraping it up like a bulldozer. A credit card edge effectively lifts the melted candle wax without being sharp enough to scratch or damage the wood surface.

    • 2). Saturate a clean cloth with white vinegar and squeeze out some of the excess moisture so the cloth is wet, but not dripping. Scrub the surface of the wood table to remove waxy and greasy residue left by the candle wax. Change to a clean portion of the cloth, as needed, and continue to wipe up the wood surface.

    • 3). Dry the wood with a clean cloth. Use an old dryer sheet to buff out any remaining grease from the candle wax.

    • 4). Pour a quarter-sized amount of wood cleaner and polish on a clean cloth and rub it into the wood surface to clean and shine the wood. Use a product appropriate for your type of wood surface and follow the directions on the package.
