You can use simple items to come up with some engaging projects that will excite little ones and encourage their creativity.
  
  

Cinnamon Ornaments

• Cinnamon ornaments are a good project for kids to work on during the holidays. By mixing equal parts apple sauce and cinnamon, and adding a teaspoon of white glue, kids can make a dough that they can roll out on the counter. By cutting out shapes using cookie cutters and letting the dough harden overnight, a lovely and fragrant keepsake can be made.
  
  

No Sew Blanket

• A no sew fleece blanket can be exciting for little ones to make, as they can create a cuddly blanket without the need for sewing. Find two pieces of equal sized fleece fabric and place one on top of the other. Help kids cut a fringe around the edges of the fleece, then use the top and bottom piece of each fringe to tie a knot. This removes the need for hemming and creates a complete blanket.
  
  

Snow Globes

• Snow globes are a classic childhood toy, and youngsters can make custom globes by using a simple glass jar. Find an appropriate item such as a pickle or salsa jar and clean it out. Have kids add water, food coloring and some course glitter, then glue a small toy to the lid of the jar. When the lid is screwed back in place and the jar is inverted, the toy will stand upright. Adding some glycerin to the water will make the glitter fall more slowly, thereby enhancing the snow globe effect.
