Pros and Cons of Cheap Photo Canvas

In today's economic conditions, photographs or paintings on a traditional glass or wooden frame are a costly affair. Whereas, a canvas print is a good option where one can get a satisfactory clarity of the image which would not pinch one's pocket comparatively. It is also one of the great options for gifting someone a large print of the photograph which was lying in the cupboard for a long period of time.

As more and more people are opting for canvas prints, there are a lot of canvas photo printers mushrooming all around. Though these vendors vouch for high quality print for a low price, one must be sure of the quality of the print, as they seem to be "a wolf in a sheep's coat" to extract money from the public. It doesn't mean that all printers who offer low pricing offers are fraudulent. There are still good printers who offer a very high quality print out for a low pricing to decorate one's home or to surprise their loved one, and one must know how to find out a good quality printer for a very reasonable price.

Types of Canvas Used

If one needs to have the prolonged effect of the photo print on a canvas, then the canvas should be of high quality cotton. A cotton canvas has a very genuine look and it is good for printing artwork and paintings, and a cotton canvas makes a photograph look mind-boggling. So it depends on what should be printed onto the canvas.

The Canvas' Weight

The weight of the canvas too contributes to the clarity and the quality of the image printed on it. If the canvas is not heavy then it may sag over a period of time and the quality of the image may deteriorate. Thin canvas too can tear and get damaged if it is transported too often.

Ink Being Used

It is advisable to opt for a printer who uses UV pigment inks. One should never compromise on the quality of ink used. It is better to do a thorough research about the printers available and then opt for a printer who use pigment ink.

Frames or Laminations

It is under a person's discretion whether to choose frames or laminations. If one is choosing a wooden frame, the kind of wood should be of good quality. A bad wooden frame may weaken if it comes in contact with water. Lamination is a very good option as it won't fade away even if it comes in contact with direct sunlight and cleaning is also easy with a damp cloth. Some companies do not frame or laminate the printed canvas for the customer. But the print is of very high quality for a reasonable price.

If one is planning to print a photo on a canvas then it is better to get the testimony about the printer from several sources, and then select one who gives a good quality printing for a reasonable budgeted price.
