Purchase flowers. Flowers that match the color scheme and decorative theme of the wedding are the best option. Also, ask the florist about what blooms are in season: They are bound to be fresher and far less expensive. - 3). Soak the fresh flowers in a preservative solution. Letting the flowers soak up the solution for several hours helps the flowers look their best longer.
- 4). Place the longest flower on your work surface. Place the other flowers beside it on both sides, from longest to shortest, making an arrow shape.
- 5). Gather the flowers in your hand, lifting them from the table. Use a rubber band to hold the arrangement together. Rearrange or reposition the flowers to create the look you desire. Add accents, such as flowers like baby's breath, sprigs of berries, or a pearl spray, for an extra decorative touch. Cut the stems to make one even length.
- 6). Bind the stems together with wire. When the arrangement's appearance is satisfactory, wrap the wire around the entire length of the stems in a steady spiral.
- 7). Adhere floral tape over the top of the wire. The floral tape, too, should spiral down the entire length of the stems. Make sure to press the tape to ensure that it has adhered properly.
- 8). Cover the taped stems with ribbon. Add a dab of hot glue about 1 inch from the bottom of the stems. Wind the ribbon up the length of the stems. Use hot glue at the top to secure the ribbon. Trim off any excess ribbon from the top.
