How to Get Rid of Metal Stains in a Swimming Pool

    • 1). Soak a clean cloth with white vinegar. White vinegar is a mild acidic cleaner that will not damage your pool's texture and coating but that will counteract the alkaline rust stain.

    • 2). Lay the cloth over the metal stain.

    • 3). Cover the cloth with plastic wrap to prevent it from drying.

    • 4). Let the cloth sit there for 24 hours. Rewet the cloth as needed.

    • 5). Remove the cloth and scrub the area with a soft-bristled brush.

    • 6). Scrub the stain with a pool pumice stone until you remove the rust stain.

    • 7). Rinse the area with clear water.
