Making Sure Your Plants Get the Right Amount of Water

Supplying your plants with the right amount of ware is not hard to do, but it helps to know a few basic rules. One of the most common mistakes that you can make with the home plant is giving it too much water. One problem with overwatering is that it washes out necessary nutrients from your plants soil. Overwatering your plant can also cause the roots to rot. One way to ensure your plant gets the proper amount of water is to use a watering bulb or other controlled watering devise. These watering devices almost looked like plastic bowls turned upside down, and are built to keep the soil moist but not overwatered.

Storing your Silk Wreaths

A simple but festive way to prepare your home for holidays and special occasions is to hang a wreath on your door. There are so many wreath options and so many different seasons that any creative crafter can easily feel overrun with them. Storing your wreaths is actually not as big a problem as it may seem. You can actually reuse your wreaths! You can do so by having only one wreath and changing or rotating the decorations you display on it. When creating a reusable wreath, you will want a strong foundation. You can attach your flowers or other designs to the wreath using a small amount of glue, a large amount of tape, or a weaving pattern that holds everything together. This technique allows you to cut down on storage space without throwing away or wrecking your wreaths. All of your decorative pieces can be kept in a single box, and often you can keep them organized in the pattern or design you like for them. There are storage containers built specifically for wreaths and hanging shelves that store your wreaths nicely if youd rather use multiple wreaths.

How to Fertilize your Plants

An interesting but little known fact regarding plants is that those in the ground need much less fertilization than potted plants. Fertilizer provides nutrients that younger plants (including most potted plants) need to thrive. Another reason for the need for more fertilizer is that the soil in pots does not get revitalized naturally the way soil in nature does. However, fertilizing potted plants is usually a pretty simple process. You can find exactly what you need packaged and ready to go at your local gardening store (many home improvement stores and some super centers also have a gardening section). Please follow the directions, as each fertilizer can be different. Many fertilizers are simply added to water before you water your plant. This is a great solution because it allows you to take care of two steps in one in regards to caring for your plant.

Silk Tulips

One of the best loved silk flower varieties is the tulip. Tulips classic look and tall, thin stems with long delicate leaves make them readily identifiable. Tulips are a great flower to use for almost any decorative need. Tulips are unique in that they are not stuck in a certain classification in terms of festivities or a particular time of year. In contrast, roses belong to the world of romance and appreciation, and should not necessarily be used for other decorative purposes (such as a just because bouquet). Because of their long slender design, tulips require very little space to occupy and to beautify. Another decorative benefit to tulips is that they look gorgeous on their own, but they also compliment flower arrangements with multiple types of flowers.
