Media can be viewed back through the Photos application preinstalled or shared instantly with friends through the multimedia messaging, email or social networking applications available, such as the integrated Facebook or Peep for twittering.

The phone has an internal GPS antenna providing location based services and comes with preloaded Google Maps for current location, searching maps and basic route planning. Meanwhile, the Footprints application (also preinstalled) offers step by step navigation, favourite places for easy reference to frequently visited locations and local landmarks.

The Desire has Bluetooth 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate including the A2DP wireless stereo audio profile which is great for music playback in the Music application with sorted albums and tracks to choose form, in addition to the FM radio for live music and news. Other Bluetooth profiles are also present including File Transfer and Object Push Protocols for file sharing respectively. The internet connectivity can be shared via the standard microUSB 2.0 connection, along with fast sync and file sharing capabilities also.

With a 1 GHz processor and 576 megabytes of random access memory available it is easy to see how this phone powers its way through multiple applications on the Android 2.1 (Eclair) operating system, enhanced by the Sense user interface and experience featuring simplistic but extremely useful resources such as the Friend Stream placing one view of all contacts with their latest social networking feeds before your eyes. Other widgets and applications add further to the many capabilities, and more are available for download.

The HTC Desire provides a large 3.7 inch touch screen with pinch to zoom capability and an impressive user experience which combines features together into single views such as friends and social feeds for a clearer interface and faster access to such features. Additionally, it provides GPS and location based services, great messaging and a 5 megapixel camera for image and video capturing which can then be enjoyed on the handset along with its other entertainment provisions such as its Music player and FM radio.
