- 1). Write down the number in cubic feet divided by the height. If the height number is in inches divide it by 12 before you write it down in the equation. This will give you the measurement in feet. The equation should look like this: cubic feet/height in feet = square feet.
- 2). Divide the cubic feet by the height in feet to get the measurement for the square feet of your garden.
- 3). Multiply the cubic feet by 1,728 to get the number of cubic inches. The equation will look like this: cubic feet x 1728= cubic inches.
- 4). Divide the cubic feet by 27 to get cubic yards. The equation is: cubic feet/27 = cubic yards.
