Husqvarna TE 510 Specs

    Engine

    • The TE510's single-cylinder, four-stroke engine is actually 501 cc (not 510 cc). It has a 97mm bore and 67.8mm stroke with twin overhead cams. Steel valves open to twin exhaust ports feeding a two-into-one exhaust pipe. Fuel delivery is not done with a carburetor; the 510 is a fuel injected machine. A radiator provides liquid cooling. A six-speed transmission delivers power.

    Chassis

    • The wheel base measures 58.4 inches. The TE510 is set up with a rake and trail of 4.2 inches. Seat height is 37.9 inches. Overall, the frame geometry is somewhere between an ultra-fast-turning motocross bike and a long, laid out desert racer. However, it is capable of motocross-like performance and desert racing, so it's well-suited for conditions that transition from one to the other: some tight corners with big elevation changes and some long, fast sections.

    Suspension

    • The rear swingarm is a traditional two-sided unit spring with a single Sachs shock. Front forks are inverted Marzocchi's with the cartridge outer as the upper member and the chrome inner fork as the lower member of the cartridge.

    Brakes

    • Both front and back wheels are stopped using ultra-light floating discs. Each wheel has its own master cylinder, hydraulically actuating the brake calipers. Stock tires stop with knobby-style Michelin 21 inch 90/90 in the front and 18 inch 140/80 on the back wheel. At 249 lbs., the hydraulic discs are very effective.
