Ways to Incorporate More Fruits and Vegetables Into Your Diet

A couple of months ago I was having a conversation with someone who wanted to get healthy but didn't know where to begin.
Knowing her diet consisted of mostly meat and potatoes I suggested adding more fruits and vegetables.
She didn't know where to begin because her experience with fruits and vegetables were mostly canned.
So here are some of the suggestions I shared with her.
· Keep plenty of fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables always on hand.
Plan out what you will eat for the day and go ahead and cut them accordingly.
All ready sliced fruit is much more appealing when you are hungry.
· Always eat at least one side salad a day.
· Add broccoli to your soups, omelets, frittatas, macaroni and cheese, or eat it as a snack with dressing.
· Instead of a sandwich, eat apples or celery with peanut butter, mixed fruit, or plain yogurt with raw honey and berries · Load your oatmeal or puffed wheat cereal with nuts, raisins, berries, apples, nectarines, loquats, or any other fruit.
· Puree vegetables and add them to your spaghetti sauce.
· Sliced oranges or tomatoes are a great addition to a meal.
· Drink carrot juice, tomato juice, or wheat grass · A few more snack ideas - Julianne vegetables and eat with hummus, cottage cheese with strawberries, and cucumbers and cream cheese on toast.
Once you start eating more fruits and vegetables, you will find it easier to incorporate them into your life and you will feel much better for doing so!
