The country of Brazil is very large and diverse, as are its culinary tastes. In America one often thinks of Brazilian-style steakhouses when thinking Brazilian food, however that is just one region's preference. Traditional Brazilian fare also has an Italian and Caribbean culinary influence. A famous Brazilian steakhouse with two locations is in the Florida Keys, a chain of 1,700 Florida islands, but multiple other restaurants with Brazilian-inspired cuisine are located in the nearby area. - Braza Leña's location in the north Keys at Islamorada is right near the ocean. Braza Leña is the only Brazilian steakhouse in the Keys. The restaurant, also known as a churrascaria, offers "gauchos," or traditional steak carvers. They come right to your table to freshly cut your choices of 16 types of beef, pork, lamb, chicken or sausage that are then passed around on skewers. Besides the unlimited portions of meat being served, is also a well-stocked salad bar. The term salad is used loosely, as the salad bar also includes soups, cold meats and a variety of cheeses. Sides such as mashed potatoes, plantains, rice and beans are also served with your meat. General advice says to go very hungry and expect to leave full. The menu is fixed price--one price for adults, one for children and a lesser cost for those indulging only in the salad bar.
