How to Refinish a Cleveland Golf Club
- 1). Clean the golf clubs. Dip a soft cloth in some warm water and add a mild soap to the cloth. Lather the soap and then gently clean the dirt and grime off the club. In many cases, the club looks bad because of the dirt build-up.
- 2). Rinse the soap off the clubs. Dry immediately with a soft cloth to remove water and prevent rusting.
- 3). Assess the appearance of the clubs. Cleveland clubs are stunning clubs when first purchased, but when dirt and scratches build up, they can look less than pristine. When assessing the clubs, look for scratches and other damage.
- 4). Apply refinishing oil to a third cloth and gently rub the oil into the Cleveland club. Add extra coatings to the areas with scratches to remove the scratches completely.
- 5). Allow the oil to sit for an hour or so and then wipe the clubs with a clean cloth to remove the excess oil. Inspect the club to determine if it is completed.
- 6). Paint the club according to the patterns. Golf paint fills in chips in the paint and helps even out the scratches. Allow the paint to dry completely before using the club.
