How to Clean Steel Tanks

    • 1). Empty the tank of any liquid that may be in it. Rinse the tank with warm water.

    • 2). Soak the inside of the tank with a powdered brewery wash (this can be purchased online). Use the wash as directed. In general, use 2 oz. solution for every 5 gallons warm water. Pour out the powdered brewery wash solution and rinse the tank with warm water.

    • 3). Wash the inside of the tank with a citric acid solution. Make the solution by adding 3 tbsp. citric acid per every 1 gallon of warm water. Thoroughly rinse the solution off and allow the tank to dry.
