Crochet Instructions for a Wrap With Pockets

    • 1). Chain 52. Half-double crochet in the third stitch from the hook and in each remaining chain stitch. The first two chains of the stitch, count as a half-double crochet, giving you a total of 50 half-double crochet stitches.

    • 2). Chain two and turn. Half-double crochet in each stitch across. Repeat additional rows, until the wrap measures 70-inches long. Do not cut the yarn.

    • 3). Chain one and turn. Single crochet in each stitch across. Single crochet three times in the last stitch. Continue around to the long edge of the wrap. Single crochet in the end of each row. Single crochet three times at the end of the long edge. Continue around to the short edge. Single crochet in each stitch. Single crochet three times in the last stitch. Continue around to the other long edge of the wrap. Single crochet in the end of each row.

    • 4). Slip stitch to the top of the beginning chain and finish off the yarn. Weave the yarn end into the stitches.

    • 5). Make a pocket square. Chain 27. Half-double crochet in the third stitch from the hook and in each chain stitch, for a total of 25 half-double crochet stitches.

    • 6). Chain two and turn. Half-double crochet in each stitch across. Repeat with additional rows, until the pocket measures 8-inches long.

    • 7). Chain one and turn. Single crochet around the edges of the pocket, with three single crochet stitches in each corner. Slip stitch to the top of the beginning chain and finish off. Weave the yarn end into the stitches. Repeat for a total of two pocket squares.

    • 8). Lay the wrap flat on your work surface. Center one pocket between the long edges of the wrap and 2-inches from one short end. The edge of the pocket, spaced 2 inches from the wrap's short end, is the bottom of the pocket. Using yarn and a large-eyed needle, whip stitch the side edges and the bottom edge of the pocket to the wrap. Center and stitch the other pocket on the other end of the wrap in the same way.
