Hair Loss Treatments - Are There Any That Work?

The treatment for alopecia is big business.
There are a lot of people out there both male and female that feel so bad about their hair loss that they will almost pay anything to get their hair back the way it was.
Unfortunately there are a lot of companies that have cashed in on this and there are a lot of shady, to say the least, natural, herbal only compounds that provide a placebo effect only.
It's a pity because there are a few that are available that do seem to make a difference but it is really hard to find those ones.
It is equally hard to also know what to look for as far as branding and contents are concerned.
The major ingredient that you should look for in any brand that claims to provide a natural solution is Saw Palmetto.
The reason I say this is that it seems to be getting good reviews and press as the latest extract that seems to stop hair loss and foster regrowth where hair loss is mild and not well advanced.
If the hair loss is more serious, especially male pattern baldness then the natural 'solution' by itself may not be enough even though it's the preferred choice.
So do natural remedies work the answer is yes and no.
Yes in that if you get the right ingredients and match the use of those ingredients to the extent of your condition then you should be more satisfied with the result.
Now where its male rather than female hair loss - 9 times out of 10 this is much more difficult to treat.
Please note that hair loss is rarely cured nearly all products treat the symptoms and that is why these treatments often involve long term use - again especially for men.
The exception is only usually where there is a direct physical cause such as traction alopecia (hair pulling).
For men the choices of ones that work are less.
The main reason for this is that there are no real natural only hair loss treatments strong enough to get the hair to regrow back because of the higher levels of testosterone that men have compared to women.
So the best men can hope for using purely natural treatments is controlling the hair loss from getting worse.
The preferred route for men is therefore to use a combination of natural and conventional drugs.
The best ones are going to contain Saw Palmetto as a minimum and an FDA approved hair regrowth drug such as Minoxidil.
This combination seems to be very effective in combating further hair thinning naturally (the Saw Palmetto) and getting the regrowth process started again (The Minoxidil).
