How to Remove a Beef Vegetable Soup Stain From a Carpet
- 1). Combine 1 ounce of powdered oxygen bleach and 1 quart of warm water in a small bucket, filling the bucket with the water before slowly adding the bleach. Stir the mixture with a spoon until the bleach dissolves into the water completely.
- 2). Pour the bleach mixture over the carpet stain until you saturate the fabric. Wait about 15 minutes for the bleach mix to penetrate the stain.
- 3). Blot up the stain with the rags using a patting motion on the carpet fibers. Do not rub the carpet with the rags, as this will run the soup stain deeper into the fibers. Change rags as you dirty each one to maintain a clean surface for blotting. Continue blotting up the stain until it is removed.
- 4). Allow the remaining bleach mixture to dry until it breaks down by releasing its oxygen after an hour or two, leaving behind a white powder and water.
- 5). Vacuum the white powder from the carpet, and then leave the carpet to finish drying overnight.
