Top 3 Vehicles for Release in Canada

Every spring there are lots of new vehicles released by the major manufacturers, many of which are widely available right here in Canada. Whether or not you're in the market for a new vehicle this season, it's great fun for all car lovers to keep abreast of the amazing new automobiles that are now arriving. And who knows, one of these beauties may just tip your decision in favour of a new purchase.
Even if you haven't test driven a North American car for a few years, now may be the time to give one a chance, particularly the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze. Stylish, modern, fuel-efficient and easy to handle, the new Cruze is sure to be one of the most popular new cars this spring. It's available in a 1.8 L four-cylinder engine, which boasts a respectable 136 horsepower or 123 ft-lb of torque, for the environmentally conscious. Of course for those of you who prefer a bit more zip in your compact car, without sacrificing fuel efficiency to any significant degree, it also comes with a 1.4 L turbo-charged power plant that does a pretty impressive 138 hp or 148 ft-lb of torque. Not bad for a light engine. But the most impressive thing is the interior. It is stylish, comfortable, and ergonomic, everything just seems where it should be, and all the controls are just the right size.

Then there's the 2011 Honda Civic. Canada is a nation of smart, practical people, and as such, this compact gem's combination of space, power, and fuel efficiency have made previous models extremely popular throughout the country. This year's version of the Civic is roomier than ever, as well as being stylish and handling well. It's no wonder it's slated to be a bestseller again this year. The exterior has a highly streamlined body design, and the sightlines are excellent too. The automatic model has 140 hp and gets 25 mpg in the city, with 36 mpg on the highways - very fuel efficient in this time of economic uncertainty. Its clever use of interior space will probably impress you as well. Alternatively, you can also go for the slightly higher priced Si model with 197 horses under the hood.

Finally, there's the 2011 Ford Fiesta. This is perhaps the most impressive of all of the new cars on the Canadian market this year. The front-drive subcompact has been on sale in Europe for months now, with great results. The car represents a new philosophy: the Ford One plan, which uses the same chassis and parts for many designs in different markets around the world. The results are good - Ford has become cost-effective, which means they offer more value for your dollar. The new Fiesta has a 16 valve in-line, an aluminum block and head, and 1.6 L of displacement, for 112 foot-pounds of torque. The interior is beautiful too, and the car is fun to drive. You'll also like its fuel economy, perhaps as much its sporty appearance.
So even if you're only thinking of a new car this season, don't forget to test drive these three favourites the rest of Canada seems to love. And don't forget to be a good car owner: maintain your car well, even if it's something fairly minor, like a chip in the windscreen, go and see your auto glass repair specialist so he or she can take care of it right away. Maintaining your vehicle and keeping it in top condition will not only make you the envy of other drivers, it'll increase the re-sale value of your car whenever you decide to upgrade again.
