Alana H. and Emma B. came to NYAF as Gaara and Temari from Naruto.

Armed with her 'gourd' and a parasol, Alana H. came from Westchester wearing a Gaara outfit. Emma B. from Paoli, Pennsylvania came as Temari and completed her look with a oversized fan that she painted herself.

When I asked both girls about their favorite manga, they both chose Naruto. "It has an interesting story," explained Alana. "It depicts Japanese ninjas with a twist."
