1967 Valiant Transmission Information
- The three-speed manual was the base transmission for the 170- and 225-cubic-inch Slant Six engines and the two-barrel carbureted 273-cubic-inch V-8. The 170 and 225 Slant Sixes generated 114 hp with the transmission helping provide 155 foot-pounds of torque. The two-barrel carb 273 V-8 developed 180 hp and 260 foot-pounds of torque with the three-speed manual.
- The optional four-speed manual was only available for the two-barrel and four-barrel 273 V-8s. The two-barrel 273 and matching four-speed manual generated the same horsepower as the three-speed manual version. The four-barrel 273 with four-speed manual wielded 235 hp and 260 foot-pounds of torque.
- The 1967 Valiant's Torqueflite A904 three-speed automatic complemented the four-barrel carb 273 V-8 to develop 190 hp and 260 foot-pounds of torque. The Torqueflite was standard equipment for the 273 V-8 Valiant and an option for the 225 Slant Six-powered models.
