Knowing that you want a pink bedroom can help you to solidify a design plan, but you need to specify a specific theme first. You can decorate with pink walls, pink carpets or simply pink accessories. The theme that you choose will affect the items that you buy. From country roses to a princess theme, the color pink is a popular choice.

    Princess Room

    • For young girls who would like a pink room, a princess theme is a natural choice. You can purchase beds for children that look like a castle. Alternatively, a flowing pink canopy over the bed and satin sheets can help her feel like a princess. Look for accessories that feature the princess theme, such as pictures of crowns or wands, for those who want to be a fairy princess.

    Flowers

    • Flowers are an ideal theme for a more adult room. You can choose one type of pink flower, such as a rose, and incorporate it into all of the room's elements, such as the bedspread, artwork and borders or wallpaper on the walls. For an added effect, a vase of the flowers that you choose--even if they're silk rather than fresh--will add to the atmosphere.

    Pink and Black

    • When you pair pink with black, you get a sleek, modern feel. Starting with this idea, you can do a movie star or ballet-themed room. Chose one for the predominant color and use the other for accessories. For example, you could have pink walls and a pink carpet, but black furniture.

    Barbie

    • Many of the Barbie brand items feature the color pink, so this can make a nice theme for a girl's pink room. Purchase a Barbie bedspread and matching curtains and look for other Barbie accessories. Most importantly, leave a space to display your daughter's Barbie collection.

    Stripes

    • Stripes can help you set the tone for the room without the end result being overly pink, since the stripes can incorporate a complementary color. For example, you could have solid pink walls with pink and white striped accessories. Alternatively, you can use striped wallpaper to create the effect. Other colors that go well with pink, besides white or ivory, are light blue, lime or sage green and pale orange.
