Uses for Electrician's Tape

    Theatre

    • Stagehands use electrical tape to secure lights and lighting cables. Actors also use the tape in different colors to mark their stage positions, making rehearsals easier.

    Athletes

    • Rugby players tape back their ears with electrical tape to keep them from being cut while playing. Cricket players wrap it around tennis balls, which they use during practices instead of real cricket balls. Football players use it to keep their socks up, and soccer players sometimes use electrical tape to keep their shinguards up.

    Musicians

    • Drummers wrap their fingers in electrical tape to prevent blisters and wrap their drum sticks for a better grip when playing, which also makes the sticks last longer. Like actors, musicians use electrical tape to mark the stage.

    Home Organization

    • The savvy home organizer makes use of the variety of colors to create a color-coded organization system. Because electrical tape resists moisture and UV rays, you don't have to worry about where you are storing the labeled items; the tape will hold up under any condition.
