Wine and Dish Pairings

Drinking wine is something that is enjoyed by a lot of people.
It relaxes the mind and body as well and it also fills up your tummy.
But apparently, drinking it causes a bit of confusion for some, especially to those who are just starting out because of the wide array of choices.
There's white wine, red wine and various types in between.
So for those who are confused, here's a tip that could help you decide what type of wine to drink.
As most of us know, wines go well with certain dishes.
For example, white wines go perfectly with seafood like different kinds of fishes, oysters, clams, crabs, shrimps and lobsters.
White wines also go well with poultry such as chicken and duck as well as with dairy products such as chocolates and cheeses.
In short, white wines go well with light dishes.
On the other hand, red wines go well with red meats such as beef.
To wrap up, although there are guidelines to which wine to drink when eating certain foods, it doesn't mean that you have to strictly follow it.
If you want to drink white wine with your Fillet Mignon then you may do so.
Or if you want to drink your red wine with chicken or seafood then do it.
Always remember that drinking wine is all about the enjoyment and satisfaction so don't limit yourself to the rules.
But you also have to consider the fact that following these guidelines could help enhance the taste and the flavor of the dish that you are eating.
Happy wine drinking!
