How to Repair Makita Table Saws
- 1). Lubricate the shaft that lubricates the blade if the winding wheel is having a hard time lowering and raising the table saw blade. Rub some grease on the shaft. This will help the shaft slide up and down so that the blade will go up and down.
- 2). Replace the table saw blade if the blade has a missing tooth or if the blade is warped. Do not use a blade that has any of these problems as it may break during use. Unscrew the socket wrench that came with the table saw to unscrew the bolt in the center of the saw blade. Remove the saw blade, and place a new one in its position. Screw the bolt into the center of the new blade to secure it.
- 3). Replace the carbon brushes in the center of the table saw. Remove the blade guard and tilt the saw to a 45-degree angle. Unscrew the brush holder cap with a screwdriver. Remove the carbon brushes. Place new brushes into place, and screw them tight. Place the blade guard back into position, and reset the saw to a 0-degree angle.
