How to Convert a Kitchen Table to a Train Table
- 1). Sand the edges of the plywood smooth, rounding out the corners and edges a little so they aren't as sharp. Thoroughly clean the wood dust from the plywood after sanding.
- 2). Tape the edges on all sides of the plywood with Gorilla tape, making sure an even amount covers the top and underside. Gorilla tape is a type of duct tape made to cover rough or uneven surfaces.
- 3). Paint the plywood with green acrylic paint for grassy areas and blue for water. Include earth and rock colors for a more realistic landscape.
- 4). Cover the kitchen table with a heavy vinyl tablecloth for protection. Add the plywood train table. Assemble the train set.
