How to Remove the Motor on a Ryobi BT3000

    • 1). Unplug the Ryobi Bt3000 table saw from the electrical outlet. Remove the cutting blade by raising the plastic blade guard. Remove the three Phillips screws from the throat plate (lays beneath the cutting blade) and remove the throat plate from the slot.

    • 2). Push the short bevel locking lever to the full left position for highest elevation mode, turning the blade adjustment handle clockwise to fully raise the blade. Carefully put the open end of the smallest hex wrench included with the table saw into the slot next to the blade. The wrench fits over two flat spots on the arbor (cutting blade shaft). Put the larger hex wrench onto the arbor lock nut. Turn it clockwise to remove the nut (it has left handed threads). Remove the outer blade convex washer from the arbor and then carefully remove the blade.

    • 3). Unplug the motor direct power cord from the electrical junction outlet (15 Amp Single Pole) located directly behind the motor. Remove the three guide bolts and flat washers securing the front motor mounting plate to the motor (1/4 inch - 20 x 1 inch bolts), located above the bevel gear assembly. Remove the two guide bolts that secure the base of the motor to the upper table saw frame (1/4 inch - 20 x 1 inch bolts).

    • 4). Remove the two rail holder adjustment nuts (5/16 inch) located on top of the motor. Remove the rail locking clamp mechanism (5/16 inch) and slide the motor forward and down to remove it from the table saw frame. Replace the motor, then reinstall by following the reverse instructions for motor removal.
