How to Prepare for a Home Cleaning Service

Having someone you do not know come in and clean your home can be stressful.
Many homeowners are embarrassed at having someone see how dirty and messy their home can become.
Others are wary of trusting someone to come over and mess with their stuff.
There is no reason to have these fears, however, especially when knowing how to prepare for a house cleaning maid service.
Before a first visit from maids, make sure to leave instructions for keys, alarms, door codes, and pets before they arrive at the home.
Homeowners also need to discuss the particular cleaning needs of the home.
This allows the maid to be prepared before they come in and there are no future misunderstandings about costs or length of the visit.
To make yourself feel better, and to make a little easier for the maid service, pick up the toys, laundry, and anything else that may be scattered throughout the home.
Make sure to put up important paperwork and mail.
Some may think it is an inconvenience to have to clean before a cleaning service comes over, but this results in a better experience.
If people leave all of this stuff out, the maids will try to pick it up but do not know where it is supposed to go.
When homeowners get home, they will spend a great deal of time looking for these things.
If they had put it away before the maids came over, it would be easy to find and easier for the maids to do their real job - deep cleaning the home.
The most important part of picking up is the paperwork, bills, and other papers.
Maids may mistake this paper for trash and throw them out.
Putting the papers away saves you time trying to track the documents down later.
Homeowners can also leave a note on the papers that says do not disturb to ensure their safety.
Load the dishwasher so the sink is empty in order for it to be cleaned.
Leave out some fresh linens so the bed can be changed.

Let the cleaning service know if there are any pets, what kinds, how many, and if they will be out when they come in for cleaning.

Many homeowners have different cleaning requirements.
They could be environmentalists who require green products.
There could be members of the family with allergies.
Let the team know about these requirements and make sure their cleaning products or methods match the requirements.
If they do not, families can leave cleaning products out for the team to use.
