- 1). Pre-soak the fabric. Fill a bucket or sink with water as hot as the fabric can stand. Add a pre-soak or 1 tbsp. laundry detergent per gallon of water. Place the fabric in the water. Allow to soak overnight.
- 2). Place the fabric in the washing machine. Select the water temperature and cycle appropriate for the fabric type. Use white vinegar in place of laundry soap. Place a 1/2 cup of bleach in the washing machine for white fabrics that are bleach-safe.
- 3). Remove from the washing machine when the cycle is complete. Repeat the steps if the stain is still present. Do not dry fabric if the stain is still present as the heat will further set in the stain.
