- 1). Most stains can be removed if they are still wet. Unfortunately, that isn't always the case. Ink, however, can be removed with a simple household product, rubbing alcohol. The best is 90%, but 70% can work too.
- 2). Put the rubbing alcohol on a clean white cloth and dab the area. Do not rub. Let sit for a few minutes and then vacuum with a wet and dry shop vacuum. Repeat. You may have to repeat a number of times, but never rub the stain!
- 3). When no more stain is on the cloth and it looks like the stain is gone, apply some water to the area and then use the shop vac again.
- 4). Finally, put a paper towel over the area to remove the last of the wetness. This also prevents any ink below the fibers moving to the surface.
