2012 Readers" Choice Awards in Grandparenting

The 2012 Readers' Choice Awards celebrate worthy products, services and individuals in a variety of fields. This is the first year that that readers had a chance to salute favorites in the field of grandparenting.

1. Favorite Grandparenting Book


Readers were invited to nominate and then vote for their favorite grandparenting books, ones that have inspired or consoled or advised. Three of our finalists are anthologies that bring together different voices writing about grandparents and grandparenting. One is a humorous but helpful guide for grandmothers. Blogging grandparent? Not so long ago, that combination of words was unheard-of. Today grandparents are boldly forging ahead in the blogging field. Our five finalists are blogs with a grandparenting focus, that are updated often and that offer content that is useful and educational. 3. Most Admired Grandparent


In our most admired grandparent category, we were looking for nominees in the public arena who have demonstrated that family is a top priority. We ended up with a First Granny, a prominent politician, a TV psychologist and a couple of names well known in film.
